THE NEW living room • Forget formal living spaces. Maximize multipurpose areas with ideas that add seating, style, storage and more.
Forgo the traditional coffee table. • Boost your living room’s functionality with end tables that are easy to move to create a surface for work or homework. When they’re not in use, treat them as traditional coffee tables by adding a small floral arrangement and a few design-forward books.

Curl up on a comfy beanbag. • Any interior can benefit from a blend of fun and unexpected seating. In this kid-friendly hangout space, beanbags act as the perfect counterpoint to the industrial-style stools at the opposite end of the room.
Integrate smart storage. • Be selective when choosing items...
