GET OUTA HERE! • Built from aluminium by Whangarei’s Offshore Boats NZ, this 11m Dan Leech designed foil-assisted power catamaran had its genesis at a SailGP event in Lyttelton a few years ago.

TUNED BY EXPERIENCE • Launched in 2025, the 19.8m Flagship is the first of Riviera’s new 58 Sports Motor Yachts (SMY) into NZ. She is classic Riviera – handsome and gleaming – but she also illustrates the options and possibilities available to buyers wanting to refine a new Riviera to their usage/cruising preferences.

INTRODUCING OUR R MARINE FLAGSHIP TEAM • At R Marine Flagship, we lead the market through unmatched marine expertise. As New Zealand’s home of Riviera, nationwide brokerage and a true full-service business, we deliver a complete sales and ownership experience supported by one of the most knowledgeable teams in the industry and recognised for their integrity, discretion, and unwavering professionalism. Read on to discover more about some of our amazing team.

AN ASTONISHING JOURNEY TO THE 1968 ZEPHYR NATIONALS • The Platinum Anniversary of the Zephyr class at Howick in 2026 will host a guest with a pedigree like no other. Sue Currie, a teenage Zephyr sailor in the 1960s during an era where female participation was not common, was shipwrecked on the way to the 1968 Zephyr Nationals, then flew to Auckland the following day and commenced racing that afternoon – all within 24 hours of the Wahine sinking.

WHAT’S HOT ON BOATING NZ ’S WEBSITE

40HP SHOOT OUT! • The FC 430 Tiller is one of Fin Chaser’s longest running and most popular models. First introduced in 2011, it’s an entry-level model that remains a top seller for Fin Chaser. And while this seaworthy little boat goes well with a 30hp outboard, it is commonly bundled with a tiller-steer 40hp.

Marine pest of the month • Asian paddle crab (Charybdis japonica)

SILIC ONE • A NEW WAVE IN FOULING-RELEASE HULL PROTECTION

Keeping it cool this summer • Summer is here – time to relax aboard your boat and enjoy the truly amazing water New Zealand has to offer.

SHINING LIGHT • Once upon a time, Scott Fyfe and three good mates built an out-there race boat: the Young Rocket 31 Extreme, still seen most Friday nights out contesting the RNZYS Rum Race under her current owner. Now 30-odd years later – a little older, but still with the same desire for speed and thrills – Scott Fyfe has dialled up the new boat of his dreams with designer Rob Shaw.
